Since beginning at Case Western in 2023, I have developed four courses from scratch, and taught a total of five sections. I will teach Sociology of Sexuality for the third time in Fall 2025. I taught Introduction to Gender Studies in Spring of 2024, and in Spring 2025 I taught Human Development: Medical and Social, a course required for second year nursing students at CWRU. In Spring 2025 I also assumed responsibility for Sexuality Education, taught in collaboration with the Physical Education department to fulfill CWRU students wellness requirements. I have received overwhelmingly positive teaching reviews for all courses.
As a teaching assistant, I worked with professors on a wide array of courses, both methodological and topic-specific, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I also have experience with online teaching across all my teaching positions. In many semesters, I have guest lectured on several topics, including Violence Against Women, Gender Bias in the Medical Profession, and Color Theory in Data Visualization.
In Spring 2021, I was a co-instructor for SOC 3002: Introduction to Social Research, a course required for Sociology majors which provides an overview of many different methods as well as ethical considerations and proposal writing in social science. I taught my own course in Summer 2021, SOC 1020: Contemporary Social Issues - Gender & Sexuality. I have also been the teaching assistant for three cohorts of Sociology Honors students, working with individual students on their own intensive research projects. In 2022, I won my department's teaching award based on the evaluations of my students and the recommendations of the instructors with whom I'd worked.
